NZ Barbarians U85 Club Cup draw confirmed

New Zealand Rugby has confirmed the preliminary draw for the NZ Barbarians U85 Club Cup.

The competition kicks off on Saturday 3 October, subject to COVID-19 mass gatherings restrictions, and will see 19 teams across North Harbour, Auckland, Counties Manukau, Waikato and Wellington unions vie for national honours.

The 2020 competition draw has been designed to ensure a fair and even competition, given the disruptions caused by COVID-19 to the club rugby season.

For the initial rounds, teams have been bracketed into Northern and Southern pools and rankings applied based on final positions in local club competitions.

The draw for the Quarter Finals will be conducted as a national draw in partnership with the NZ Barbarian Rugby Football Club. The Final is planned for the weekend of Saturday 31 October. A venue and kick off time will be confirmed closer to the match.
